YOUR NEW ROLE

This position is responsible to provide leadership in and directly manage procurement planning, contract development, tender preparation and evaluation, and contract administration for project works, maintenance and related services to Sydney Opera House. This position is responsible for all aspects of contract administration including advising project managers; preparing tender and contract conditions consistent with project goals and SOH/State guidelines; administering tenders and contracts including recordkeeping, ensuring receipt of all documents required by the contract; and financial reconciliation within the policies of the Sydney Opera House and NSW Government guidelines. This position also has responsibility for the development of approval papers for project works, contract variation, contract extensions and other matters of a similar nature.

ARE YOU THE ONE?

Key Responsibilities/skills:

  • Extensive, knowledge, understanding and experience of tender and contract management and administration with minimum 5 years’ experience in contract administration within building or maintenance industries.
  • High level writing and computer skills to produce, interpret and edit complex technical documents, reports, contracts, briefing papers and submissions.
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of documentation produced.
  • Experience in developing and applying tender evaluation processes using a range of criteria, including facilitating Tender Evaluation Committees.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NSW Government procurement policies, especially NSW Government Procurement System for Construction and NSW Government standard form contracts
  • High level interpersonal skills to consult, negotiate and collaborate at a senior management level with Sydney Opera House clients and with contractors.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience is desirable.
